 EMPOWERMENT TECHNOLOGIES: SOMETHING SPECTACULAR

Reflections that made by Group Three of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Empowerment Technologies is not just a simple subject that teaches us about technologies; in this subject, we've experienced a lot of things that took us on a wonderful ride, a ride that is something spectacular.

I still remember the day when I first attended this subject and were informed about the inventor of the World Wide Web, which is Tim Berners-Lee. We also watched a video about the evolution of the World Wide Web from 1 to 3 and learned how it evolves all the way through. Then we tackled online safety, security, and netiquette rules. 

Those are the lessons that caught our attention because they taught us how to be careful with our actions online. "Think before you click," is the quote that we often hear, but that is really true, since one wrong action that we take can cause us harm.

The next lessons taught us the basic fields of ICT that we can use, especially in this period of time. We are taught how to make our own PowerPoint presentations, which helps us a lot as students since most of the time we are tasked with creating our own presentations and discussing them in class. In addition, we are also taught how to use Microsoft Word and Publisher and create our own resume and application letter.

Before our first quarter ended, we were informed about the existence of Bill Gates and the history of Microsoft. 

Our lessons in the first quarter made me learn a lot of things and gave me knowledge that we can use in our everyday lives. Sometimes I feel difficulties, but my willingness to learn new things empowers us and pushes us to strive more and learn more.

The learning continues; in the second quarter, we are introduced to a new topic titled, Imaging and Design for the Online Environment, where we are taught about the basic principles of graphics and layout, creating info-graphics, Online file formats for images, Principles and basic techniques of image manipulation, uploading, sharing, and image hosting. Our first task in the second quarter was to make promotional videos, where we chose a place or something that we could promote and created a website about it. 

Next, we are informed about how ICT was used as a platform for change. The lesson caught our interest since we tackled different social movements. We also learned the role of ICT in recent history. These are the lessons where we tackled EDSA PEOPLE POWER REVOLUTION, EDSA DOS, Yolanda People Finder, Million People March, and Change.Org. These lessons were followed by the elements and principles of digital citizenship. 

Then, we tackled everything about multimedia. The elements, their different types, and their uses in different fields.We are also taught how we can use ICT projects for social change and are grouped to create a concept paper on our chosen topic. I was amazed at how this subject made us share our opinions on different social issues that we are currently dealing with.

And lastly, our final project, which really taught us a lot of lessons, was a project that made us deal with different teachers and made this subject a lot more fun. We are tasked with creating a school website to promote the school. We've experienced difficulties, but we are able to deal with it. 

Empowerment technologies are truly an amazing subject for all of us. This subject taught us a lot of things that have been really helpful since the day that we attended its class until the last day. The lessons that we can bring to our journey. I feel fulfilled upon learning those things, and we can say that we are blessed and lucky to encounter this subject. I may find the task difficult sometimes, but what's important is that we are learning and that we continue learning. Because of empowerment technologies, we've found something spectacular.

I have learned many things in this subject especially since I am new to exploring modern technology, this subject is one of the subjects I will never forget in my 1st semester as a senior high school, if I have any lesson learned from this subject, that is being open minded to everything that is new to me, I am also very grateful to my dear teacher because he never runs out of patience in teaching, for the rest of my life I will carry the lessons learned I from him.

Empowerment technologies subject helps me to learn about technologies, ict projects, website, concept paper that surely help me in the future,this subject also help me to understand why do people need ict or technology, technology helps us improve our communication with our love ones, technology also brought us in a new world, thank you to sir Rolando Valdez who teach us in making those important things.

In this subject, empowerment technologies I learn a lot of things during our discussions and I also observed that despite all the new trends And features in the internet there's a very deep reaserch that has been done. Our first semester summarize all the components resolving in the ICT . ICT is a powerful tool used to access and provide information through the different mediums and platforms use in technologies such a gadgets , social media websites etc. I'm always attentive in the class when our teacher is talking in the front saying ICT terms because this is my first time I've encounter the deep and shallow side of the world wide web (www) which encourage me to learn more and to share my ideas and what I learn to the next generation. The ICT tool is helpful to all of us especially on spreading and giving information even through sounds, video, photo and infographics.

I have learned many new things in this subject empowerment technology especially in quarter 2, such as online platform m-is technologies that are grouped to be used as a base upon which other applications processes or technologies are developed some of the examples of an online platform are presentation/ visualisation, cloud computing,file management and mapping. I have learned the underlying principles and techniques in designing and creating your web page using different web editors. I have learned basics of HTMY, and WYSIWYG,web hosting, as well as editing and inserting page content like image's,videos, paragraphs,photo gallery, and buttons.

I never imagined that ICT is a powerful tool that it is being used to connect who are living far away from each other. It is a big help especially during this pandemic times. It helps in minimizing the effect of the virus and keep people safe. Aside from this, ICT helps people to continue with their jobs even when they are at home. This help the country economy to survive somehow, Mostly, ICT helps people lives to keep them informed about whatever goes on their countries and surrounding. Through websites and social media, information are posted for them to keep update and informed. This improve my skills, it is not easy for me to go through but I believe that this subject helped me. Not only the students, but also parents who are sad because of the condition of their children with weak brains when it comes to activities and academic.

It has changed the generation of teenagers/young adults rapidly. It has made the generation more greedy, ignorant, and lazy. By the help of our subject in Empowerment Technology it widens my knowledge and perception in technologies today

Technology gives more chances to interact and communicate in new conditions and with new, less formal rules. Students have become a lot more active and engaged in the classroom while teachers have become more facilitators than just a dispenser of information.

Empowerment is the process of becoming stronger, more confident, and in control of what might happen while technology deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life and society. Empowerment technology helps us strengthen our scientific knowledge in order for us to learn how to apply different technology-related information to certain things in our lives.

The extent to which ICT is integrated into the teaching and learning process in senior high school has a positive impact on every student like us, especially those taking the ABM strand. In our Empowerment Technology subject, our activities are to be done through the use of social media; this blog that we create using WordPress is one of these examples. For us, it paves the way for self-discovery.

The opportunities brought about by this ICT integration for students like us have enabled us to experience the new technology of today’s generation. It helps us widen our knowledge and perception. This subject introduced us to new topics that will be very useful hereafter; hence, it made every task in the office more convenient. This could prepare us for our career, which will be much needed in our college years for our chosen path. We learned a lot of lessons that we can apply to real-life situations.

Empowerment Technology was such a hard and difficult subject for me. it is hard because some of our lessons in this subject is difficult to understand and sometimes I can't relate it to my life. But there are times that I can fully understand what inside the modules . Just like in our preliminary discussion in 2nd quarter, I learned a lot of lessons that i can used and apply in my life. One of this is the Information and Communication Technology or also known as ICT. By this, I can know that is deals with the use of different communication technology such as mobile phones, telephone, internet, etc that we are using today in our society. through this, it also helps me to locate, save, send and edit a particular information in a World Wide Web. What we had done in this subject is very helpful and useful.

My reflection on ICT project for social change is I’ve learned about creating a concept paper. A concept paper is a document used to convince a panel of potential funders to help a product, program, or service become reality. It has five elements: introductions, purpose, description, support, and contact.

There are five elements of a concept paper. First, INTRODUCTION, it includes your group’s mission and vision. Next, PURPOSE, includes why this project is worth your group and sponsor’s time.

Then, DESCRIPTION, includes all the necessary information about the project. SUPPORT, contains the budget needed for the project. CONTACT INFORMATION, includes information on how the group can be contacted.

I’ve learned that ICT Project Process involves planning, development, release and promotion, and maintenance. In the planning stage, your group should be able to conceptualize your project, research about your topic, set meetings and deadlines, assign tasks, and find a host, create a sign map, list down all application and output that you need, and consider funding. The development stage involves the actual creation of the website or blog.

The release and promotion stage involves the actual release and promotion of the campaign. Finally, maintenance involves responding to feedback and continuing to improve and update the website.

Empowerment Technology was a really challenging subject for me since some of the things we learned there were hard to understand and sometimes I couldn't connect them to my own experiences. However, there are times when I fully understand

I found out that it's really helpful for it reminds us as a netizen to remember the proper etiquette that should be acted when we're on social medias.

It's important to continue learning about empowerment technology. Why is it that important? First off, it enables me, and especially other people, to use the internet sensibly and responsibly. Second, be responsible in posting some images or other confidential things that people can saw it. Finally, it is pragmatic in our everyday life.

I’ve learned that empowerment technologies is important. However, there are things that we need to follow ,to avoid danger or accidents. I learned what are the rules and netiquette to be follow .I also learned that ICT (Information and Communication Technology) deals with the use of different communication technologies such as mobile phones, telephone, Internet, etc. to locate, save, send and edit information . I also learned that Empowerment Technology or Em-Tech often deals with the use of different technologies such as mobile phones, telephone, computer and other devices to locate, save, communicate and to inform. Empowerment Technology is important for its innovative uses is sufficient in our daily lives. I also learned how to make a blog and website. I also learned more about social media and its categories.I am thankful that I learned many things in Empowerment Technology.

Likewise, empowerment technology refers to computer technology that we use almost every day, which enables us to do tasks that, in the past, require professional help.Information and communications technology (ICT) is an extensional term for information technology (IT) that stresses the role of unified communications and the integration of telecommunications (telephone lines and wireless signals) and computers, as well as necessary enterprise software, middleware, storage and audiovisual, that enable users to access, store, transmit, understand and manipulate information.ICT is also used to refer to the convergence of audiovisuals and telephone networks with computer networks through a single cabling or link system. There are large economic incentives to merge the telephone networks with the computer network system using a single unified system of cabling, signal distribution, and management. 

ICT is an umbrella term that includes any communication device, encompassing radio, television, cell phones, computer and network hardware, satellite systems and so on, as well as the various services and appliances with them such as video conferencing and distance learning. ICT also includes analog technology, such as paper communication, and any mode that transmits communication.

ICT is a broad subject and the concepts are evolving. It covers any product that will store, retrieve, manipulate, transmit, or receive information electronically in a digital form (e.g., personal computers including smartphones, digital television, email, or robots). Skills Framework for the Information Age is one of many models for describing and managing competencies for ICT professionals for the 21st century.I learned that empowerment technology is to learned how to be use technology in right way.It is used to improve our skills and develope our insecurities in online.It helps to add more knowledge ,documents,importance that our need in everyday life.

Empowerment Technology is important since it makes our individual lives easier,by the use of technology it is a lot more easier for us to message our friends and family. Technology also a big help for education purposes Technology makes it easier for students to find information quickly and accurately. Search engines and e-books are partially replacing traditional textbooks. Instead of personal tutors, students can get one-on-one help through educational videos – anytime and anywhere.

Using technology is very convenient and it is easy to use and you get faster information, it is very applicable in education. As a student, I learn better by using technology and empowerment technology is teaching us the way of using technology it gives us information how to be more responsible of using it for good intention and that is by education. I learn so much about empowerment technology it helps us to know more about ICT or Information Communication Technology. I learn about the WWW or World Wide Web, internet, static and dynamic web pages, key features, semantic web, several problems about 3.0, mobile technologies, trends in ICT, mobile OS, how to be safe online, six types of social media, internet threats and many more are the lessons that we tackled and learb about.
